OIM recrute: Textbooks development Consultant/ Education Expert (Fluency in Arabic, English & Italian is a must) - Cairo

Description du poste : Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer the incumbent will liaise with the International experts and the representatives of the Technical Sector of the Egyptian Ministry of Education (MoE) in order to develop the relevant material for the preparation of the new textbooks for the 4th and 5th year of the Technical Secondary Tourism School for the 3 occupational profiles of Chef, Waiter, Housekeeper & Receptionist. The incumbent will also act as IOM focal point for all communications with the selected media agency and any other local and central authorities (such as teachers of Fayoum School, Egyptian Tourism Education, etc) involved in process of the textbooks development. *Core functions/ responsibilities* In particular he/she will: Participate to the technical meetings with IOM international experts and representatives of the Technical Sector of the MoE for the definition of criteria and workplan for the development of the textbooks[1]; Translate all relevant material deemed to be necessary during the process of textbooks development from Italian and/or English to Arabic; Coordinate with relevant ministerial counterparts the development of the textbooks for the 3 selected occupational profiles in line with the new curricula approved by the MoE; Liaise with the Egyptian and Italian expert for the realization of integrated didactical units and production of textbooks; Review jointly with the Egyptian experts of the TVET sector of the MoE and the school representatives the draft handouts in order to assure the accuracy of the terminology; Provide support during the overall process of production and definition of the textbooks layout, and select the necessary pictures in coordination with Italian Consultant and IOM staff; Liaise with the selected Printing Agency and ensure that the developed layout of the textbooks is endorsed by the MoE; Attend and provide translation service during the plenary meeting organized with Fayoum teachers and representatives of the MoE aimed at providing them all necessary clarifications about the structure, use and expected learning outcome of the new textbooks; Provide support during the development of the Italian language textbooks for the students of the 4th and 5th year; Provide guidance and tutoring, in coordination with Italian experts, for didactical and teaching methodologies related to teaching of Italian as foreign languages, also through unconventional teaching tools (distance learning, learning through expressive art etc). Provide final report to IOM project management on activities carried out Profil recherché: Master degree from an accredited academic institution preferably Languages, Science of Education, Literature and Philosophy. Education in Italian language and translation is mandatory. University degree in Languages is an asset. Solid knowledge of the European Qualification Framework and learning outcomes based approach; Proved experience in liaising with governmental counterparts; Proved experience in development of school textbooks and teaching material; Work experience of translating technical material related to tourism and hospitality sector from Italian to Arabic and vice versa. Proved experience in translation of official documents form Italian into Arabic and vice versa Previous experiences with IOM and with UN specialized agencies an advantage. Work experience in relevant civil society organizations or international organizations an asset. Excellent Arabic drafting skills in Fussha. Language(s): Thorough knowledge of Italian, English and Arabic, both spoken and written [1] Teaching material and textbooks have to be developed for the following subjects for the 4th and 5th year: i) Kitchen services, ii) Restaurant Services, iii) Housekeeping , iv) Receptionist, vi) Management and Organization of Conferences and Events, vi)Management and Organization of restaurant and catering services, vii) Hygiene and Nutrition.
