Responsibilities:
This position reports directly to the President
Strategic Alignment:
Drive the development of the Bank’s HR strategy and annual business plans as derived from the Bank’s
long term strategic plans.
Support to Staff Management Committee:
Support the Staff Management Committee in developing and implementing innovative and effective
approaches that support the Bank’s business priorities in all required HR activities.
Business Partnership:
Lead the delivery of an HR function which is a business partner to the Bank’s departments and units, by developing strong relationships and partnerships with leaders at all levels so as to be viewed as a credible resource in providing a broad range of HR consultation for internal client satisfaction.
HR Projects Initiation & Management:
Make pro-active proposals for review and provide leadership and project management skills required to deliver on approved HR-related initiatives across the whole HR Cycle (Including recruitment, performance management, reward and benefits management and learning & development).
HR Policies & Procedures:
Oversee the process of proposing new HR policies as required by the business.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of all HR policies.
Make prompt recommendations and corrective actions where required.
Recruitment & Talent Management:
Coordinate the talent acquisition process including organizational design, job analysis, candidate sourcing and tracking, interviewing and assessment, and manage the process flow to on-boarding. The role holder will support Senior Management to ensure that the Bank attracts the right people with
requisite capability to deliver results and challenge the status quo;
Performance Management:
Oversee the implementation and management of performance management systems and tools that create a performance driven culture
Organisational Development:
Assist in fomenting the Bank’s core values amongst staff by proposing and implementing required change management initiatives to create an environment which encourages and rewards positive behaviour.
Internal Communication:
Drive the implementation of an internal communication process that ensures that staff are kept abreast of relevant HR developments quickly and concisely.
Reward & Benefits:
Manage the design and implementation of required compensation and benefits structures for staff and ensure that they are relevant, up to date and that they balance the needs of the business with the ability to attract and retain the best talent as well as reward great performance.
Staff Engagement and Wellness:
Oversee the creation and management of appropriate staff wellness initiatives as well as implement a staff feedback loop to capture staff feedback about its HR management processes, and ensure that such concerns are adequately responded to in order to facilitate a supportive working environment.
Manage & Develop HR Staff:
Develop a strong, diverse and highly motivated cadre of HR professionals who work as a team to serve as strategic business partners for the Bank.
Ad hoc duties as assigned by Senior Management.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Good first degree from a recognized University and a post graduate degree in a relevant field e.g.
Human Resources, Business Administration, and Social Sciences etc.
At least 12 years sound experience as an HR professional. (Experience in the financial services industry is an added advantage)
Demonstrated internal client focus and sound business judgment with demonstrated ability to deliver results without close supervision
Ability to set strategic direction and then translate strategies into pragmatic implementation plans; good track record in the management of work programs and budgets
Excellent conflict management and resolution skills as well as emotional intelligence to manoeuvre through sensitive HR related issues, and the capacity to resolve them constructively, firmly and fairly.
Superb client relationship skills; ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and to foster strong relationships
at the highest levels of the Bank.
Ability to handle complexity, ambiguity and crisis with confidence and absolute discretion.
Ability to show passion, drive and commitment to the Bank’s mandate.
Ability to interact with and to present well researched information to the Bank's Senior Management, the
Remuneration Committee of the Board and the Board of Directors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Bank's other working languages is an added advantage (French, Arabic and Portuguese)
Contractual information:
Permanent role
Willing and able to relocate to Cairo
Willing to travel extensively and to work long hours where required in order to achieve the Bank's objectives
Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting and good knowledge of the African continent.
