The ChildFund International RECRUTE: Project Manager, Ebola Response in Guinea

ChildFund International intends to engage a Project Manager Community Programs with expertise on strategies for mobilizing and training local officials and community members to break EVD transmission, and respond to the psychosocial needs of people affected by the EVD epidemic in eight Guinean prefectures. The Project Manager will lead overall project implementation for 6 months, develop work plans, technical reports, and support the overall management of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
In close collaboration with ChildFund staff, the Project Manager will:
Provide overall leadership to the project ensuring that ChildFund provides key deliverables within agreed timeline and cost.
Serve as the principal institutional liaison to USAID/OFDA and National Ebola Response Committee. S/he will manage a team of senior staff and sub-partners and ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all products and activities generated under the project.
Preparing planning documents and project reports.
Represent ChildFund International and the project in meetings in-country.
Ensure that ChildFund stays abreast of and provides inputs into sector/technical-based collaborative meetings and working groups, such as health cluster-based meetings, and ensure that pertinent information (such as UN-based 3W details) are kept up to date and shared in a timely fashion.
Other duties as needed.

Develop and implement project strategies in eight prefectures

Provision of PSS and child protection services for people affected by EVD – in coordination with international consultant for child protection.
Support resource mobilization to increase impact of Ebola response
Proposal development
Partnerships meetings
Donors visits
Expected Travel:
Conakry – Guinea. With field interventions taking place in 8 prefectures: Dabola, Dalaba, Dinguiraye, Faranah, Kindia, Mamou, Pita, and Telimélé.

6 months in Guinea – contingent upon ChildFund securing the funding.

Fluent written and spoken French and English
Management and Supervision
The Project Manager will report to ChildFund’s National Director in Guinea. The Project Manager will work closely with the Ebola Response Team Leader and Regional and International office staff.
Required Skills
Master's Degree or higher in public health.
Two years of experience living or working in a developing country is required; experience living and working in Guinea or emergency settings is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of SPHERE Standards, Child Protection Minimum Standards and Interagency Guidelines for Case Management & Child Protection. Familiarity with relevant WHO program standards and guidelines, including best practices for stopping EVD transmission.
The consultant must have strong leadership qualities and depth and breadth of technical and management expertise, as demonstrated by at least five years leading donor-funded projects.
Management experience with a USG cooperative agreement required. Experience with community health projects is required.
S/he must also have demonstrated international credibility as a leader on community health. Experience working in West Africa is preferred.
S/he must have experience interacting with government agencies, host country governments and counterparts, UNICEF and other international donor agencies.
Strong interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English are also required.
