Plan recrute: Quality Education Advisor for EQuIP Programme, West Africa

Plan’s vision is to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalised, with high quality programmes that deliver long lasting benefits. We are looking for an Education Advisor to support the education quality component of the Irish Aid funded EQuIP programme in 4 countries in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone). He/She will provide support to Country Offices in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the quality improvement component of the EQuIP programme with the intention of scaling-up and designing other similar projects/pilots and supporting the development of guidelines for the quality component of the Plan West Africa Regional Thematic Framework for Education. The incumbent will also facilitate learning and exchange between West African countries in relation to initiatives to increase the quality of education. You will be an education professional with a clear understanding of the humanitarian sector and the West Africa context and demonstrable experience and knowledge in the areas of education planning/programming, education quality development, teacher training and teaching methodologies. Knowledge and experience of promoting community participation in education programming is desirable. You will also be a proven facilitator of organisational learning processes and able to evidence skills in participatory monitoring and evaluation, documentation of lessons learned, dissemination and exchange of information, including experience in implementing Early Grade Reading Assessments. Fluency in English and a good working knowledge of French required with a working knowledge of Portuguese advantageous. Type of Role:Fixed-term contract to 31st December 2015 Location: Burkina Faso, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, or Sierra Leone Country Office with regular travel between the 4 countries the role will be supporting. Reports to:EQuIP Programme Manager with technical reporting to the Plan West Africa Regional Education Specialist Salary:$45,000 – 55,000 per annum.
